The legacy of luna

“The legacy of luna”, the story of Julia “Butterfly” Hill, the woman who lived 738 days on top of an ancient sequoia to avoid being cut down

I have lived for over two years in an ancient North American redwood over 200 feet tall, on a property near Pacific Lumber. I have survived harassment, loneliness and doubt during this time. I have seen the grandeur and devastation of the oldest forests on Earth. I have lived in a tree called Luna. Trying to save his life. Believe me if I tell you that this was not what I expected from my life »»

At the beginning of my activism, I became aware that 97% of the forests of these ancient redwoods had already been destroyed

I understand that for some people I’m just a dirty tree-hugging hippie. But I can’t imagine anyone wanting to put a chainsaw on something like that..

There has also been a children’s book about the story: “Luna & me”.
